2016年5月9日-11日，课题组蔡明刚教授带领研究生徐烨，林嫣，刘萌阳和吴寨参加了同济大学召开的中挪关于北极Svalbard污染物议题的讨论会，会上蔡明刚教授和研究生刘萌阳共同做了 “Fate of some POPs in the seawater and sediments from the North Pacific Ocean to Arctic Ocean”，此次会议促进了中挪针对Svalbard地区的北极污染物研究的一系列考察合作项目，如 “Distribution profiles and seasonal patterns for organic contaminants in changing Arctic marine waters”, “Studying adaptive processes in the changing Artic: An application for a “Svalbard Strategic Grant” by the Kongsfjord Flagship Program”, “Field sampling and laboratory methods for the analysis of Microplastics in the sediments from Kongsfjorden, Svalbard”。
